Väinö Mäkelä

Väinö Mäkelä (PDGA #59635) is a professional disc golfer from Turku and one of Finland’s best-known players.

He has collected 23 career wins, and his highest world ranking to date is eighth (currently 25th). Mäkelä is also a former national champion, won the Finnish Disc Golf Championship in 2021. On the Finnish tour he dominated from 2018 to 2021, winning the country’s top series four years in a row.

Internationally, he has earned a bronze medal at the 2018 Disc Golf European Championship and, earlier in his career, claimed the European junior title.
